The breakfasts that always come up in family conversations are those we had at Denny’s in Florida – the boys remember those huge feasts more than Disney World, more than Universal studios and even the massive roller coasters at Busch Gardens come a poor second.

When I went to New York, I was told the breakfast’s were amazing and the food was great etc…but it wasn’t till my last day there that I found my best, it was small italian place that did the biggest breakfast I’d had, eggs benedict, crispy bacon, a bagel and pancakes! Plus a nice glass of oj and a coffee. Amazing!

  6. I had a delicious breakfast when out camping at Slayley, a gorgeous area in the Northumberland Countryside. There is nothing nicer than waking up from a tent and cooking a fry up on a home made log fire!!! The smell is out of this world and the taste beats any cooked breakfast in a cafe or restaurant!

We stopped at a service station and had breakfast in the cafe – not the best I’ve ever had but the location was like something out of a great novel.

I ate my happiest breakfasts in Summer 2002, in the overgrown, East-facing garden of my crumbling student house. I remember the sun shining on my face every morning, but realistically, there must have been some overcast days. I had just graduated and was starting a new life in the big, bad world of work. It was an experience to be eating my muesli at the same time as everyone else, rather than at 2pm!

New York Times Square was the best breakfast and one I’ll remember forever. I enjoyed being able to sit and relax before starting my busy day of sightseeing. It’s awesome people watching there, when all I had to do was eat my breakfast. I didn’t realize the significance of that moment until I was asked “what was the best part of your trip to New York?”, on thinking about it I realized I was doing so much when I was rushing around I hadn’t enjoyed it as much as just sitting eating breakfast and taking in the view. Great moment….. wanna do it again!

I used to love breakfast time when we went camping in France. Everyone was still in bed and I used to set myself a tray with, teapot, cup & saucer, two croissants, some ham and a small amount of raspberry conserve. I’d sit outside in the morning sunshine, yes sunshine, there’s alot of that in France unlike here in the UK!
I’d just sit and enjoy the peace and quiet, before the mayhem that was my four children awoke.
Unfortunately we no longer go to France as money is a bit tight, but I still enjoy the memory of my own time there. But so grateful that the schools are back next week.

Many years ago I won a holiday to Dubai, far posher than any holiday I’d have ever paid for myself, thankfully breakfast was included in the prize because otherwise it would have cost £26 … each … per day! For your £26 though you got a room filled with food, an entire Indian buffet, there must have been at least 20 different curry dishes, full English buffet, continental – and tons of other stuff. I don’t normally eat breakfast and didn’t manage to get my head round curry for breakfast, but sitting in the sun eating feta cheese ,smoked mackerel and hot buttered toast was bliss.
